The Partnership for Biodiversity in Planning is working with local authorities to encourage small developers and householders to use the Wildlife Assessment Check to consider the ecological impact of their building project in advance of submitting a planning application. We will be sharing some of the results of using the tool here and using those lessons to refine the tool over time.

We invite any users to share us with their experiences of addressing ecology at the pre-planning stage – such as problems incurred when failing to address it, and some of the benefits of thinking about it earlier. We welcome your feedback regarding the tool as well.

We also invite any local authorities who are interested to promote the tool on their planning portal to provide us with feedback regarding the Wildlife Assessment Check.

Please contact the partnership with your experiences and feedback.
